DATA:

Some day, hopefully soon, you can come to this page and find the actual data being collected as part of the Denali LTEM program. We are still working on the data distribution aspect of the program.

METADATA:

For the time being, what you can find here, are metadata for the Denali LTEM program. "Metadata" is a fancy way of saying "data about data." Metadata go along with a data set to describe it—for example, metadata will describe who collected the data, where they collected it, and why they collected it. Some very formal standard formats for metadata have been developed by the U.S. Government for the purpose of allowing metadata to be gathered in searchable databases, often called clearinghouses. The purpose of these clearinghouses is to make it easy for anyone to find data that are of interest to them.

The Denali LTEM program has been documented using the Federal Geographic Data Committee metadata format for biological datasets. The Denali LTEM program metadata can be found on the National Biological Information Infrastructure Clearinghouse. The program is currently documented with one "parent" file (describing the whole program), and 11 "children," (one file for each major program element). For convenience, the Denali LTEM program metadata files are reproduced here.
