PROTOCOLS:

Protocols are the descriptions of the methods used to collect data in the monitoring program. The protocols posted here are the most recent versions of the methods in use at Denali National Park and Preserve. Because the Denali LTEM program is being developed as a prototype for subarctic parks, we are interested in sharing what we are learning about monitoring methods. We share these protocols here, but with a strong note of caution. The Denali LTEM program is still under development, and some methods are still being actively tested. Moreover, methods used at Denali National Park and Preserve may or may not be suitable for use in other monitoring programs, as objectives and environmental settings may vary. Before "adopting" our methods, we highly recommend that you talk to the Denali LTEM Coordinator or the Contact Person for the particular monitoring element in which you are interested.
