Linking Breeding and Migration/Wintering Areas of
Red-throated Loons with Satellite Telemetry

During July 2000, we implanted satellite transmitters into Red-throated Loons at 3 breeding locations within Alaska. Links below show their locations through December 2000. There has been some minor filtering of data, but final analysis of these data will require a more detailed assessment of location quality/precision (i.e., these data are PRELIMINARY). Each individual within a breeding area is displayed in a unique color, and locations serially over time are connected by a line. Here are the links to loons originating from the Copper River Delta, the Colville River Delta, the Yukon-Delta early phase, and the Yukon-Delta late phase.
