Title: Breeding Bird Inventories on Local Training Areas of the Alaska Army National Guard
Abstract: The purpose of this project is to conduct breeding bird inventories of Local Training Areas of the Alaska Army National Guard throughout Alaska. Since 1995, 55 sites throughout the state have been surveyed. At each site, 3-4 days were spent attempting to survey all major habitats (e.g., lakes/ponds, upland tundra, riparian habitat, marine shorelines, muskegs and forests). Breeding status and categorical abundance, based on detections per hour, were determined for each species encountered during walking area searches.
