| Glacier Bay In 1999 we added Glacier Bay to our list of sampling sites. The survey included extensive sampling of Glacier Bay proper and Icy Strait directly outside the mouth of the Bay. We collected data on the numbers and species of seabirds that we observed and on the biomass of phytoplankton and zooplankton. We also continued our oceanographic studies by sampling ocean temperature, depth, salinity and nutrient concentrations. We increased our understanding of this ecosystem as a whole by collecting a wide spectrum of interrelated data. To learn more about our findings and to see distribution maps of seabirds, marine mammals, and forage fish in Glacier Bay National Park, view one of two versions of the slide show below.
