U. S. Geological Survey - Biological Resources Division
Marine and Freshwater Ecology Branch
My primary function is to provide medical and surgical support to researchers
at Alaska Science Center, mostly in the areas of surgical implantation of
transmitters into waterfowl, seabirds, and marine mammals, and drug
immobilization of animals. I am the Controlled Substances Officer for the Alaska
Science Center. Finally I serve as the veterinarian on the Institutional Animal
Care and Use Committee at the Alaska Science Center. My research interests are
in the development of implantation methods for wildlife and safe and reliable
field anesthesia techniques.
