Using new technologies to study ecosystems; sea otter ecology; geographic information systems; population estimation; predator/prey interactions.

Current Projects:

• Process structuring coastal marine communities in Alaska

• Assessment of sea otter population status in Alaska

• Mechanisms of impact and potential recovery of nearshore vertebrate predators from the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill.

• Glacier Bay small schooling fish and marine ecosystem project
